Lab.io is a free, open-concept mobile app (iOS at launch) reimagining vocational education for young people ages 13–25. By combining real-world mentorship with blockchain technology, students apprentice under local professionals in high-demand industries—starting with media production, and expanding into automotive and construction—while earning income and owning what they create.

The Problem We Solve

Too many talented teens and young adults juggle school with low-wage jobs just to afford basics like transportation or a phone. Traditional education often:

• Extracts student labor without ownership

• Offers limited real-world earning opportunities

• Leaves young creators financially vulnerable

Centralized systems frequently misalign incentives. Students work within systems that are burdened by bureaucratic limitations, and students must work outside of school for the finances they need for life. Professional training can be gratuitous and ineffective.

By using the decentralization, transparency, and immutability of blockchain, Lab.io puts power, ownership, and income directly into students’ hands.

How It Works

• Apprenticeship with Real Professionals
  Students choose a local mentor and learn through hands-on projects—such as:

  • Photography portfolios

  • Short films

  • Mobile apps

  • Automotive repairs

  • Construction and tiny-home builds

• Education Credit
  Schools can award academic credit, just like, and even as traditional highschool and college internships.

• True Ownership via NFTs
  Every student project is minted as an NFT that the student fully owns and controls.

• Three Ways Students Can Earn

1. Sell the NFT(s)

2. Accept donations supporting their education and necessary equipment purchase

3. Get paid for client work (partial or full ownership and/or future revenue is based on client agreement)

Two-Year Roadmap

2025–2026 | Pilot Phase

• Complete three student-led media projects (already in progress) that will be minted as student-owned and controlled NFTs, including each of the following:

  • Photography portfolio

  • Live-action short film

  • Mobile app

• Mentorship, equipment, space, and paid client work provided by founder

• Partnerships with high-school students and recent graduates, connecting them to real-world professional, paying clients and sponsors

• Alpha app creation and NFT minting

2026–2027 | Expansion

• Pilot programs with local automotive and construction professionals

• Real-world projects tied to NFTs documenting outcomes

By End of 2027

• Launch a scalable, fully functional custom app in beta

• Support media, automotive, and construction tracks

• Lay groundwork for expansion into trades like welding, plumbing, electrician work, and beyond
